ABOUT RAY
FOUNDER & CRAFTSMEN
Having left school and fallen into the Motor Trade at 16, Raymond couldn’t shake the feeling that he wasn’t doing what he was born for. As a child, he spent many a weekend watching and helping his Grandad, Stan, with woodwork and carpentry projects – and fell in love with the intricacy and craftsmanship that unfolded before him. At 20 he finally took the plunge and trained to be a Carpenter and General Builder working alongside his Dad, another expert craftsman, laying engineered oak flooring. Wood, the attention to detail, and the beautiful things he watched his Dad and Grandad make remained his passion. Raymond worked for many years in South London – where he formulated the team that he still has to this day – tirelessly taking on the kitchen, bathroom and home refurbishment projects. In his Thirties, having successfully run his business for a number of years, he decided that he really wanted to hone his carpentry skills. This wanderlust led him to Poole, Dorset, where he was inducted as a Master Craftsman for Sunseeker Yachts. The intricacy, detail, and excellence here magnified his love for his craft.
In 2019 Raymond took the plunge to move his business to Essex, where he lives with his partner and children, but whilst his location may have changed – his love of projects, excellence in standard, creativity, and attention to detail all remain solid from the foundation on which they were built.
